The construction work on the capital dredging project phase VI at Kamarajar Port has been completed. The execution of the work was contracted to Van Oord India Private Limited.
The project involved execution of capital dredging phase VI at Kamarajar Port in Tamil Nadu under a single stage two cover system. The dredging quantity was about 13.23 million cubic metres (mcum). It also involved maintenance dredging to the tune of 0.21 mcum, in the proposed dredging area earmarked for capital dredging. The project was completed at a cost of Rs 4.4 billion.
