Department of Economic Affairs grants in principle approval for borrowing funds under Lucknow Metro Project

Department of Economic Affairs has granted in principle approval under the Lucknow Metro Rail Project (East-West Corridor) to raise funds worth Rs 28.84 billion from the New Development Bank.

The project involves development of a new corridor in the city spanning 11.16 km with 12 stations. Seven stations from Charbagh-Niwazganj are likely to be underground spanning 6.87 km and remaining five stations from Vasant Kunj-Thakurganj are likely to be elevated spanning 4.28 km. The project entails investment of Rs 58.01 billion.
