The Dibrugarh Airport in Assam has recently witnessed the successful completion of the instrument landing system (ILS) and the precision approach path indicator (PAPI) calibration. The ILS provides pilots with lateral and vertical guidance, helping them to land during low visibility and adverse weather conditions. PAPI is a visual aid that provides pilots with visual guidance during the approach. The move marks a notable upgrade in operational safety and efficiency at the airport. It also aids in reducing risks associated with landing and facilitates all-weather operations.
