The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) has conducted trial runs on the Sachivalaya-Mahatma Mandir stretch under the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase-II Project on October 2, 2025.
The stations falling under this stretch are Akshardham, Old Secretariat, Sector-16, Sector-24 and Mahatma Mandir.
The phase-II involves development of a metro rail connecting Gandhinagar to Motera in Gujarat. It is being implemented in two corridors. Corridor 1 would connect Narendra Modi stadium (Motera) to Mahatma Mandir and Corridor 2 would connect Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) to Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) City. The project entails an investment of Rs 53.84 billion.
