Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bhavnagar Port Infrastructure Private Limited (BPIPL) to operate and maintain the upcoming container terminal at the north side of the Bhavnagar Port in Gujarat.
As per the agreement, the CONCOR will act as the container terminal operator and will be responsible for the operation, management, and marketing of the container terminal. The detailed terms are conditions for the agreement are being finalised.
Earlier in September 2024, BPIPL had executed an agreement with the Gujarat Maritime Board for the development of this port infrastructure. As per the agreement, 235 hectares of land had been allotted to BPIPL on a 30-year lease, with a provision to expand further by an additional 250 hectares.
