The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has commenced land acquisition under the Bengaluru metro project phase III.
The land has been identified in various locations including 1,830.87 square meters (sq m) in Nainappashetti Palya, 1,499.32 sq m in Bilekahalli, 5,187.31 sq m in Sarakki, and 4,556.46 sq m in Jaraganahalli. Additional parcels of land include 82.38 sq m in Kadirenahalli, 1,007.92 sq m in Karisandra, 1,815.74 sq m in Katriguppe, 3,670.09 sq m in Hosakerehalli, 1,872.31 sq m in Pantharapalya, and 5,289.03 sq m in Nayandahalli.
Besides, a geotechnical investigation under the project is underway and is likely to be completed by June 2025.
The Bengaluru metro rail project Phase-III will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 156.111 billion. It involves construction of two elevated corridors viz. corridor I, 32.15 km long JP Nagar phase IV-Kempapura stretch with 22 stations and corridor II, 12.5 km long Hosahalli-Kadabagere stretch on Magadi Road with nine stations in Karnataka.
