DP World handled 840,564 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) at its International Container Transshipment Terminal, Cochin in 2024, an increase of 17 per cent as compared to 2023.
The terminal handled about 657 vessel calls in 2024, ranking among the highest in South and East India. Additionally, it managed its largest-ever single vessel exchange of 6,157 TEUs with the MSC Aurora and handled multiple ultra-large container vessels of over 365 meters in length during the year.
The terminal introduced new ship-to-shore cranes, electric-rubber tired gantries, and expanded yard space, boosting the terminal’s total capacity to approximately 1.4 million TEUs a year in 2024.
