The Union Government laid the foundation stone for three rail projects in Rajasthan. These are:
- Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur Railway line Doubling Project which involves doubling of the existing 131.27 km long rail line between Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 12.68 billion.
- Ajmer-Chittorgarh Railway Line Doubling Project which involves doubling the existing 186 km rail line between Ajmer and Chittorgarh in Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 18.6 billion.
- Luni-Samdari-Bhild section of the Bhatinda-Bhildi Railway Line Doubling Project involves doubling of existing 752.2 km rail line between Bhatinda and Bhildi via Sirsa, Hisar, Ratangarh, Degana, Luni and Samdhari in Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 75.22 billion.
