Soil testing under Bhubaneswar metro project phase-I has achieved about 10 per cent progress.
Besides, 77 acres of land have already been acquired for the project and remaining 15 acres will be acquired soon. Furthermore, the government of Odisha is likely to release funds worth Rs 3.5 billion for the project in March 2025.
The project involves construction of 26 km long elevated metro rail corridor from Trishulia to Bhubaneswar Airport and have 20 stations. It will be implemented by Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation Limited at an estimated cost of Rs 62.55 billion.
