Northeast Frontier Railway signs four MoUs with IIT Guwahati for safety and operational efficiency of trains 

Northeast Frontier Railway has signed four memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati for enhancing the safety, sustainability and operational efficiency of trains. The first MoU highlights the identification of broken and unbroken seals in freight trains through high-speed cameras, the second MoU will focus on developing artificial intelligence (AI) based alert and face recognition systems for suspecting criminal activities, the third MoU focuses on deploying a real-time alert system for the alarm chain pulling mechanism in trains, while the fourth MoU targets the construction of effluent treatment plants (ETPs) and solid waste management system for railway premises and coaching depots.
