Adani Power completes acquisition of CEPL for Melamaruthur Power Project – Phase I

Adani Power Limited (APL) has completed the acquisition of Coastal Energen Private Limited (CEPL) for Rs 33.35 billion for the Melamaruthur (Tuticorin) Thermal Power Project – Phase I. With this, CEPL stands dissolved, and Moxie Power Generation Limited, a special-purpose vehicle incorporated by APL, will act as a surviving entity. CEPL has implemented the 1,200 MW (2×600 MW) coal-fired thermal power plant in the Tuticorin district in Tamil Nadu. Unit I of the project was commissioned in December 2014, and Unit II was commissioned in January 2016.
