Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) has recently received a new order from Ocean Sparkle Limited (OSL) to build three 70 T bollard pull Azimuthing Stern Drive (ASD) tugs.
Designed by Robert Allan Limited, these new tugs will be 33 metres long, 12.2 metres wide, and have a 4.2 metre draft. It will also feature two 1,838 kW main engines, 2.7 metres diameter thrusters, 150 kW diesel generators, towing winches, a deck crane, and an external firefighting system.
These new tugs will be built under the Indian flag and classified by the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), meeting the approved standard tug design and specifications (ASTDS) setup by the government of India.
