Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has registered handling a record-breaking 18.5 million metric tonnes (mmt) of cargo within the first 45 days of FY 2024-25. Compared to the corresponding period of FY 2023-24, this is a 6.81 per cent growth.
Amongst commodities, iron ore import increased by 168 per cent in volume, underscoring the increasing demand for this critical raw material. Moreover, the volume of urea and fertiliser raw and material (FRM) increased by 43 per cent and 99 per cent, respectively.
