MoPSW to shift major ports to 80 per cent landlord model by 2030

As per reports, the Ministry of Shipping, Ports and Waterways (MoPSW) is working to shift to 80 per cent landlord model by 2030 to increase efficiency and reduce logistics costs at major ports. In the landlord model, operational aspects of the ports are taken over by the private players, while the port authority acts as a regulator and landlord.

MoPSW is working on to improve the cost and ease of doing business with the help of four pillars including developing port-based industrial clusters, investments in the maritime sector, ensuring public private partnership and multi-modality.
