Air India Limited and Tata Advanced Systems Limited have signed an MoU with the Karnataka government to invest Rs 23 billion in various projects. Air India has proposed a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility, entailing an investment of Rs 13 billion. This endeavour is anticipated to generate around 1,200 jobs. Tata Advanced Systems targets investing Rs 10.3 billion in three projects, including a passenger-to-freight aircraft conversion facility of Rs 4.2 billion, a gun manufacturing facility of Rs 3.1 billion and aerospace and defence research development of Rs 3 billion.
