State acquires 434.43 acres for Coimbatore Airport Expansion

The Government of Tamil Nadu has acquired about 434.43 acres of land out of the 468.83 acres required for the Coimbatore Airport expansion project as of December 31, 2023. The project includes the extension of the runway from the existing 9,760 feet (2,990 m) to 12,500 feet (3,800 m) to accommodate larger aircraft such as the Boeing 747 and Airbus A380, construction of a new terminal building, parallel taxiway and two parking bays and the expansion of the existing terminal.
