The Malkangiri airport in Odisha was inaugurated on January 9, 2024. The airport is located at Katelguda, and spans over a land area of more than 233 acres. The airport entailed a cost of around Rs 700 million and has a runway of length 1,620 meters and a width of 30 meters. The first phase is likely to witness the operations of nine-seater aircraft. The number of operational airports in Odisha now stands at seven.
