NHAI aims to raise Rs 150 billion in 2023-24 through InvITs and bonds

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has set an ambitious fundraising target of over Rs 150 billion in the remaining four months of the 2023-24.
The initiative aims to reduce NHAI’s debt and address its capital expenditure needs.
The fundraising plan includes the issuance of two tranches of infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs), the third bundle targeting Rs 90 billion next month and the fourth bundle raising Rs 60 billion by March 2024.
Additionally, NHAI plans a bond issue which is expected to generate around Rs 10-15 billion with an 8.5 per cent return.
