The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has granted a licence to Steel Authority of India Limited for operating flights from Rourkela airport in Odisha under the RCS. The licence has been granted after the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) reviewed the progress and preparedness of the airstrip at Rourkela. With this development, commercial flight operations are expected to commence by February 2019, once all the technical formalities are completed.
