Indian shipping industry had fleet of 1,382 vessels as of March 31, 2018

As of March 31, 2018, the Indian shipping industry had a fleet of 1,382 vessels of 12.57 million gross tonnage (GT) and 19.08 million deadweight tonnage (DWT). Of the total vessels, 934 were coastal vessels with a tonnage of 1.48 million GT (1.63 million DWT) and 448 were overseas vessels of 11.09 million GT (17.45 million DWT).
