Union government inaugurates Delhi-Dehradun expressway in Delhi, Uttarakhand

The central government inaugurated the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Project on April 14, 2026. Phase I includes two packages: the Akshardham-Delhi/Uttar Pradesh border stretch, which is about 80 per cent complete, and the Delhi/Uttar Pradesh border-Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) crossing stretch, which is 90 per cent complete. The deadline to complete these two stretches was May 2024. Phase II includes four greenfield packages: the EPE junction (Mavikalan village) to Lohadda village; Lohadda village to Karaunda Mahajan village; Karaunda Mahajan village to Khyawari village; and Khyawari village to Latifpur village at the Saharanpur bypass. The deadline to complete these four stretches was August 2024. Phase III includes two packages: the Saharanpur bypass to Ganeshpur, which stretches from 0 km to 13.89 km and 13.89 km to 41.82 km. The deadline to complete these two stretches was July 2024 and November 2024, respectively. Phase IV includes three packages: Ganeshpur-Mohand, Mohand-Daat Kali Tunnel, and Daat Kali Tunnel-Dehradun. The deadline to complete these three stretches was August 2024.
