MoRTH approves funds for Nashik Ring Road Project in Maharashtra

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has approved funds for the construction of a 47.9 km stretch of the 77.4 km Nashik ring road. The total cost for this section is Rs 58.05 billion, with Rs 26.5 billion for land acquisition and Rs 31.55 billion for construction. MoRTH will provide funds only for the construction of the 47.9 km stretch, while the state government will bear the construction expenditure for the remaining stretch along with the land acquisition cost. The road section funded by MoRTH will be a four-lane road with six-lane infrastructure. The plan includes three major bridges, 18 minor bridges, 29 vehicular underpasses and seven viaducts, requiring a total of 305 hectares of land. The alignment passes through 18 villages, and about 27 houses will need to be demolished. The entire project is expected to be implemented by Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited. It will commence at VTC Phata near Vilholi village, pass through Igatpuri and Trimbakeshwar talukas, and end at Adgaon.
