The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved funds worth Rs 35,697.80 million for the implementation of 350 km of state highways and 2,577 km of rural roads in Maharashtra. The project involves the improvement of 350 km of state highways and 2,577 km of rural roads, connecting over 1.7 million people in at least 80 villages and 410 rural communities to markets, healthcare, education and other essential services. ADB has approved a results-based lending programme aimed at enhancing road connectivity in Maharashtra, particularly benefitting the climate-vulnerable Marathwada and Vidarbha regions.
