Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) inaugurated the extended export cargo warehouse on December 30, 2025, enhancing the airport’s annual export cargo handling capacity from 75,000 metric tonnes to 125,000 metric tonnes.
The upgraded warehouse features additional X-ray machines and explosive trace detection (ETD) machines, along with dedicated facilities for dangerous goods, radioactive cargo and valuables. It also includes cold rooms maintained at temperatures between +2°C and +8°C, ensuring safer, secure and more efficient export cargo operations.
