Indus Towers’ board has approved the acquisition of telecom assets from Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom for up to Rs 33.08 billion through a slump sale. The transaction comprises the acquisition of passive infrastructure assets/telecom towers including associated assets, macro sites, ultra-lean sites and cells on wheels. Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom have approved the sale of their telecom towers for approximately Rs 21.48 billion and Rs 11.34 billion respectively. Indus Towers will add approximately 16,100 telecom towers to its portfolio post this transaction. The aggregate acquisition cost will not be more than Rs 33.08 billion following the closing adjustment between parties.
