Delhi airport becomes the first airport in India to connect to 150 destinations

The Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi has reportedly achieved a milestone by becoming the first airport in India to connect to 150 destinations both domestically and internationally, after the launch of the Thai AirAsia X flights connecting Delhi and Bangkok-Don Mueang (DMK).

The airport has added over 20 exclusive international destinations including Phnom, Penh, Bali Denpasar, etc. over the years. The airport also saw a 100 per cent rise in transfer passengers over the last decade, serving as one of the leading transit hub in South Asia.

Reportedly, 88 per cent of all long-haul destinations from India are connected from Delhi, and of the long-haul weekly flights from India, 56 per cent operate from Delhi.

Further, the airport is set to become a super-connector hub with the ongoing wide-body aircraft induction.
