The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Rajasthan Refinery at Pachpadra in Balotra was inaugurated on July 4, 2026.
The greenfield refinery-cum-petrochemical complex, constructed at a project cost of Rs 794.59 billion is one of the largest and most advanced refineries in the country. It has a capacity of 9 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and integrates refining and petrochemical production. It has been developed as a joint venture between HPCL and the Government of Rajasthan. The petrochemical capacity stands at 2.4 mtpa. Moreover, it has a Nelson Complexity Index of 17.0 and petrochemical yield of more than 26 per cent.
The facility is expected to strengthen energy security, drive industrial growth and boost economic development in the region.
