The State Urban Development Department, Maharashtra has granted administrative approval worth Rs 1,340 million for laying drainage lines at the Bapat Camp area in Kolhapur, Maharashtra under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.
The scope of work includes laying drainage lines in the eastern suburbs of Kolhapur city to collect sewage at Bapat Camp. It will then be diverted to a sewage treatment plant in Kasba Bawada, construction of substations and related infrastructure to treat about 15 million litres per day of sewage to reduce pollution in the Panchganga river. The drainage lines will be constructed from Tararani Chowk to Market Yard, Temblaiwadi, Vikramnagar, Kadamwadi, Bhosalewadi and adjoining areas.
