The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has approved the merger of Air India and Vistara.
With this, both the airlines can now commence the integration of its networks, human resources and fleet deployments. The merger is to be executed within nine months. The airlines have also commenced integrating the non-flying employees. The merger was earlier approved by the Competition Commission of India in September 2023.
Following the merger, the Air India group would be the country’s largest international carrier, connecting five continents and operating the highest number of flights on international routes compared to other Indian carriers.
