RJIL will be taking over as the telecom provider for IR from January 1, 2019. According to railway officials, RJIL is expected to bring down the department’s phone bills by at least 35 per cent. Earlier, Bharti Airtel had served as the telecom provider for the railways for over six years.
BSNL has launched a new digital payment platform for its landline, broadband and fibre-to-the-home customers. This service will enable its customers to pay the bills at the nearest BSNL retail outlets. BSNL’s countrywide retail network of more than 40,000 outlets has been integrated on this platform.
