ONGC commissions projects worth Rs 60 billion to boost oil, gas output

ONGC has commissioned two projects worth Rs 60 billion to add 7.5 mt of oil production and one billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas output over the life of the Mumbai High fields. The move is in line with the company’s plan to double efforts in order to raise the productivity of mature and ageing fields. Around Rs 37.4 billion has been spent on developing a state-of-the-art eight-legged water injection-cum-living quarter platform, as part of Mumbai High South Redevelopment Phase IV, while another Rs 22.92 billion has been spent on the Cluster 8 marginal field development project at Mumbai High. These two projects are expected to increase the crude oil yield of the Mumbai High field. The project will result in an incremental gain of 3.2 mt of oil and 0.571 bcm of gas.
