A trial run was conducted on the 306 km Rewari-Madar section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor project on December 27, 2019. The project involves the development of a 1,504 km heavy-haul freight corridor of double line electric tracks (2×25 kV) in Haryana, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh at an investment of Rs 467.18 billion. It is being developed in three phases – Vadodara-Rewari (Phase I), Vadodara-JNPT (Phase II) and Rewari-Dadri (Phase III).
