Henox IT and Data Centers has unveiled Henox Crest, a new coastal submarine cable system designed to strengthen India’s digital infrastructure and support the country’s growing ambitions in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud and hyperscale data centres.
The high-capacity network will connect key digital hubs across Gujarat, Mangaluru, Kochi, Chennai and Visakhapatnam, creating an integrated ecosystem of submarine cables, terrestrial networks, edge data centres and strategic compute infrastructure along its corridor. The integration is intended to bring connectivity and compute closer to emerging digital demand centres, enabling low-latency access to AI, cloud, enterprise and digital services.
The project also seeks to diversify India’s submarine cable infrastructure by establishing new carrier-neutral coastal hubs, reducing reliance on existing international gateways. Gujarat will serve as a western hub connecting to the United Arab Emirates, the Middle East, Europe and Africa, while at Visakhapatnam on the eastern coast, Henox Crest will interconnect with the SubConnex system, providing onward connectivity to Singapore, Malaysia and the US West Coast. Further, Henox has partnered with APTelecom as its strategic technical and commercial partner for the project.
