A 160-tonne u-girder has been successfully installed near Cyber Park, under the Millennium City Centre-Cyber City Metro Rail Project (erstwhile HUDA City Centre – Cyber City Metro Rail Project). Manufactured at the project’s precast yard in Sector 33, Gurugram, each U-girder is about 28 metres long and 5.05 metres wide, containing nearly 16 tonnes of reinforcement steel and 60 cubic metres of M-60 concrete. The u-girders will form the elevated viaduct on which metro tracks will be laid, with more than 1,600 planned for the project.
The project involves development of 30.5 km long metro route in Gurugram city of Haryana entailing investment of Rs 102.66 billion. It will be implemented by Gurugram Metro Rail Limited and will connect Millennium City Centre to Udyog Vihar Phase-5 and merge with Rapid Metro Rail, Gurugram at Moulsari Avenue station near Cyber City. It will also have a spur at Dwarka Expressway and Gurugram Railway station.
