Apraava Energy has acquired the special purpose vehicle, Ananthpuram Transmission Limited, for the development of an interstate transmission system (ISTS) project in Ananthapur, Andhra Pradesh. The project was awarded through the Government of India’s tariff-based competitive bidding process.
The scope of work involves the establishment of approximately 250 ckm of 765 kV transmission lines and a 4,500 MVA (3×1,500 MVA) 765 kV pooling station, along with the installation of a ±300 MVAR static synchronous compensator. The project is expected to facilitate the integration and evacuation of around 3 GW of renewable energy from the Ananthapur region.
Additionally, it is being developed under the build, own, operate and transfer model and will provide transmission services for a concession period of 35 years after commissioning. The completion timeline for the project is set at 36 months from the date of signing of the transmission service agreement.
In March 2026, Apraava Energy commissioned the 22 km, 400 kV Fatehgarh IV transmission line along with a 400/220 kV pooling substation in Barmer, Rajasthan. The project forms part of the transmission scheme for evacuating power from Rajasthan’s renewable energy zones, which have a planned capacity of 20 GW under Phase III Part A1.
