What are Terex MPS’ current focus areas in the Indian market? What are the key offerings?
Our focus in India is very clear: driving customer productivity and maximising return on investment. We are concentrating on high-demand segments such as aggregates, road construction and mining, where equipment performance and uptime directly impact profitability.
Our offering spans a full range of jaw, cone and impact crushers, including the market-proven Cedarapids MVP Series cone crushers, which are widely recognised for delivering consistent performance, higher uptime and a lower cost per tonne. Alongside this, we are seeing strong traction for our modular and wheeled crushing and screening solutions, which enable faster deployment and greater flexibility across sites. Our high-efficiency screening solutions further complement the portfolio by delivering superior throughput and precise material separation.
What differentiates us is our ability to combine global technology with localised solutions, backed by a strong dealer network and responsive aftermarket support.
How are customer requirements evolving, and how are you addressing these changes?
Customers today are far more focused on the total cost of ownership rather than just the initial acquisition cost. In the aggregates and crushing segment, this translates into a strong emphasis on higher throughput, lower fuel and operating costs, minimal downtime and faster project turnaround. In response, we are promoting modular and wheeled crushing and screening solutions that significantly reduce installation time while improving flexibility across sites. At the same time, we are offering equipment with enhanced fuel efficiency and longer wear life to reduce operating expenses in demanding applications.
A strong focus has also been placed on strengthening our aftermarket ecosystem to ensure quick service response and parts availability, which is critical for maintaining uptime in continuous operations. In parallel, we are increasingly focusing on telematics and digital tools to provide better visibility into equipment performance, utilisation and maintenance needs. While telematics capabilities are being progressively enabled across the portfolio, they are expected to play a key role in supporting proactive maintenance planning and improving overall uptime.
Our approach is straightforward: help customers produce more, at a lower cost per tonne, with maximum uptime.
What are some of the key trends shaping the construction equipment space?
From a market perspective, we are seeing sustained infrastructure investments, particularly in roads, railways and urban development, which continue to drive strong demand for aggregates and material processing solutions. There is also a clear shift toward higher-capacity and more efficient crushing and screening equipment, as customers look to scale operations and improve productivity. At the same time, mobility and flexibility are becoming increasingly important, especially for contractors managing multiple sites and requiring faster plant relocation.
In addition, there is a gradual but definite move toward digitisation and sustainability, with increasing focus on optimising fuel consumption, reducing environmental impact and improving overall operational visibility. The adoption of telematics and connected solutions is also gaining momentum, helping customers monitor equipment performance, optimise utilisation and plan maintenance more effectively. These factors are increasingly influencing equipment selection and purchasing decisions.
What are some of the recent advancements that you have adopted?
Our recent focus has been on introducing technologies that improve operational efficiency and deliver measurable cost savings, particularly in equipment performance monitoring and optimisation within crushing and screening operations. A key addition is our TRAC vibration analysis system – a portable, multi-sensor solution designed for vibratory equipment. It provides fast, repeatable insights into parameters such as screen motion, balance, resonance and bearing condition, enabling potential issues to be identified and addressed before they impact performance or uptime, while giving a clear understanding of screen box operation through synchronised, phase-aware measurements.
In parallel, telematics-enabled solutions are supporting real-time performance tracking, equipment health monitoring and predictive maintenance across parts of the broader portfolio. These capabilities provide actionable insights through alerts and usage data, enabling better maintenance planning and improved equipment utilisation. As these digital capabilities continue to expand, they will further strengthen uptime and operational efficiency across the Terex MPS range. Alongside these advancements, we continue to strengthen our local manufacturing capabilities to remain competitive on both cost and delivery timelines.
What are your plans for the Indian market? What do you see as the biggest drivers of growth?
India remains a high-growth market for us, and our strategy is centred on expansion, localisation and deeper customer engagement within the aggregates and material processing segment. We are focused on expanding our presence across key regions while strengthening our dealer and service network to support customers more effectively. Increasing local manufacturing and sourcing is another priority, enabling us to improve responsiveness and cost competitiveness. At the same time, we are bringing in more application-specific crushing and screening solutions tailored to Indian operating conditions.
The biggest growth drivers continue to be government-led infrastructure development, rising demand for aggregates and mining output, and a growing preference for reliable, high-efficiency equipment that delivers lower cost per tonne. Going forward, we see a significant opportunity to expand our market share by consistently delivering value and performance to our customers.
