169 tonne steel span launched at Jogeshwari station under Mumbai Metro Line 6 Project

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has launched 42 metres long and 168.96 tonne span over the Western Railway tracks at Jogeshwari station under the Mumbai Metro Phase III Line 6 [Swami Samarth Nagar-Vikhroli (Eastern Express Highway)].

About 88 per cent physical progress has been achieved under the project and is likely to be partially operational by early 2027.

The project involves development of 14.47 km of metro rail, connecting Swami Samarth Nagar to Kanjurmarg via Jogeshwari-Vikhroli link road (JVLR) in Maharashtra with an investment of Rs 67.72 billion. It consists of a total of 13 stations which are entirely elevated. It is being developed by MMRDA on cash-contract mode, with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited being the implementing agency.
