The CCEA has approved the Sainthia-Pakur fourth rail line project and the Santragachi-Kharagpur fourth rail line project worth Rs 44.74 billion to enhance rail capacity and improve operational efficiency. The Sainthia-Pakur fourth rail line project involves laying an 81.2 km long fourth rail line from Sainthia to Pakur station in Jharkhand and West Bengal. Meanwhile, the Santragachi-Kharagpur fourth rail line project aims to develop a 133.78 km additional line between Santragachi and Kharagpur in West Bengal.
