Survey works sanctioned for three railway projects in Tamil Nadu

Survey work has been sanctioned for three railway projects. This includes Villupuram-Nagercoil Third and Fourth Railway Line Project, Villupuram-Thanjavur Rail Line Doubling Project, and Madurai-Manamadurai-Rameswaram Rail Line Doubling project.

  • Villupuram-Nagercoil Third and Fourth Railway Line Project involves laying 565 km long third and fourth rail line between Villupuram and Nagercoil via Ariyalur, Tiruchchirappalli, Madurai, Tirunelveli in the state of Tamil Nadu.
  • Villupuram-Thanjavur Rail Line Doubling Project involves laying a 193 km long new line from Villupuram to Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu.
  • Manamadurai-Rameswaram Rail Line Doubling Project involves doubling of the 113 km existing line from Madurai to Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.
