Presenting the budget in the Assembly, the chief minister of Delhi, announced the framing of a semiconductor manufacturing, research, and development ecosystem in Delhi. A fund of Rs 10 million has been set aside in the budget for this purpose.
The budget also allocated Rs 82 million for setting up two artificial intelligence (AI) centres of excellence, which will serve as dedicated hubs for AI research, innovation, startup incubation, and capacity building. These centres will focus on developing AI-based solutions for governance and key sectors such as healthcare, education, urban mobility, and public service delivery.
Further, the chief minister announced an allocation of Rs 480 million for the construction of common facility centres to enhance the competitiveness and productivity of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). She also announced Rs 100 million for introducing a new warehousing policy to develop Delhi into a modern logistics hub.
