Around 62 per cent of construction work has been completed on the Perur Water Desalination Plant Project in Tamil Nadu. The work is likely to be completed by March 2027. Trial run on the same is expected to commence by September 2026. Work to link the seawater drawal pipeline with the caisson structure built for effective collection and processing of seawater is underway. The project also involved laying of two pipelines measuring 2,500 mm in diameter and sunk at a depth of 10 metres to bring seawater to the plant.
