Indian Railways (IR) has estimated to achieve passenger revenue of Rs 873 billion during the financial year (FY) 2026-27, reflecting an increase of nine per cent over revised estimate (RE) and reduction of about six per cent over budget estimate (BE) of FY 2025-26.
Further, IR has estimated freight revenue of Rs 1.88 trillion in FY 2026-27, an increase of 6 per cent over RE and same as BE of FY 2025-26. Besides, operating ratio is also projected to improve from 98.82 per cent in FY 2025-26 to 98.4 per cent in the FY 2026-27.
