Airtel begins transition to 5G-Advanced with dual-mode network deployment across India

Bharti Airtel has started moving from 5G to 5G-Advanced, deploying a dual-mode network that integrates non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) architectures to deliver faster speeds, lower latency and greater reliability nationwide. The set-up combines the coverage benefits of the NSA layer, which leverages 4G infrastructure, with fully cloud-native SA core designed for next-generation applications.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has invited bids for the deployment of 10,000 new 4G sites across Delhi under the opex model, marking a shift from the traditional capital expenditure approach. The telecom operator plans to expand this model across the country if it proves successful in Delhi.
