Commercial operations begin on Agartala-Sabroom rail line

Commercial operations on the Agartala-Sabroom new railway line project commenced on October 4, 2019. The project involved laying of a 114.6 km long new broad gauge railway line from Agartala to Sabroom in Tripura at an investment of Rs 34.07 billion. It was declared as a national project and the work was executed in two phases: Agartala-Udaipur (Phase I) and Udaipur-Sabroom (Phase II).
