The Union Government has inaugurated the 10.99 km Acharya Atre Chowk-Cuffe Parade stretch (Phase 2B) under the Mumbai Metro Line 3 Project on October 8, 2025. The stretch was developed at a cost of Rs 121.95 billion. With this, the entire Mumbai Metro Line 3 Project now stands complete.
Line 3 of Mumbai Metro involves the development of an underground metro rail system in Mumbai connecting Colaba to Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ) via Bandra, covering a distance of 33.5 km with an investment of Rs 372.76 billion. The project, which is being implemented by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis, consists of a total of 27 stations.
