V. O. Chidambaranar Port handled 17.89 million tonnes of cargo, including 361,991 twenty-foot equivalent units of containers during the April-August period of FY 2025-26. This reflects a 2.4 per cent increase in cargo traffic and a 7.72 per cent growth in container traffic as compared to the corresponding period of FY 2024-25.
With this growth in cargo handling, the port continues to set new benchmarks in efficiency, connectivity and service excellence, strengthening its position as a trusted gateway for global trade.
