DP World launches two new domestic railway services connecting Gujarat’s Bhimasar and Hazira to Kolkata in West Bengal

DP World has launched two new domestic railway services connecting Gujarat’s Bhimasar and Hazira to Kolkata in West Bengal. The services will provide gateway for efficient cargo movement by linking India’s western manufacturing clusters to key eastern trade hubs.

Moreover, the Bhimasar–Kolkata service will operate twice a month with a transit time of eight days and total capacity of 90 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEUs). The Hazira-Kolkata service will also operate twice a month, with transit time of seven days and the same capacity, mainly transporting edible oils, chemicals, steel, industrial goods, food grains and salt.

Besides, the new services are part of DP World’s ongoing investment of Rs 18 billion ($207 million) for building rail freight solutions across India.
