Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) commissioned the automatic block signalling (ABS) system on the Aluabari-Gaisal-Panjipara section, stretching 22.9 route km (rkm). With this, the zone has completed 87.57 rkm of ABS coverage from Ambari Falakata to Panjipara.
Moreover, ABS installation work has been sanctioned for a total of 702 km from Old Malda to Guwahati. NFR plans to install ABS on the Panjipara-Old Malda, Ambari Falakata-Jalpaiguri, and New Coochbehar-Jorai sections during 2025–26.
