Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) on July 4, 2025.
The agreement outlines long-term cooperation in several key areas of joint exploration of vessel-building opportunities in India and abroad; transfer of advanced shipbuilding technology to meet global benchmarks; initiatives to enhance productivity and capacity utilisation; and workforce upskilling.
KSOE, part of HD Hyundai, operates some of the world’s largest shipyards, including Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Samho. This collaboration is poised to strengthen India’s shipbuilding ecosystem, elevate self-reliance, and boost competitiveness in both domestic and global markets.
