The Indian Railways (IR) launched the RailOne application (app), developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), in New Delhi on July 1, 2025. The app integrates various passenger services, including live train tracking, unreserved ticketing system (UTS) via railway (R)-Wallet to get a discount of three per cent, grievance redressal, and electronic (E)-catering, porter booking and last-mile taxi services. It has been authorised by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) for reserved ticket bookings.
Reportedly, CRIS plans to launch a modern passenger reservation system (PRS) by December 2025. The modern PRS will be scalable to handle 10 times the current load and capable of processing 150,000 ticket bookings and 400,000 enquiries per minute.
